Weeklyish Wombat - Season Finale

I'm going to refrain from an actual World Series preview, as I'm in one of them, and have zero intention of jinxing myself. Maybe by NOT doing one I'm jinxing myself though? FUCK.

Week 22: Mike Clevinger - Kingslayers - 8 INN, 4 HA, 10 K, 0.500 WHIP, W

AWL Playoffs Round 1 MVPs:

Kingslayers over Pez Sox: Mike Clevinger - SP - 13.1 INN, 6 HA, 6 BBI, 16 K, 4 ER, 2.700 ERA, 0.900 WHIP, W

Moonschatz over Kev Bombs: Gerrit Cole - SP - 14 INN, 4 HA, 2 BBI, 29 K, 2 ER, 1.286 ERA, 0.429 WHIP, W

The Slayers had a few that could be given the honor of AWLDS MVP for their game against the Pez Sox, but Clevinger is their true ace. Those 16 k's were crucial in getting past the Pez Sox, in a game that was closer than the final score indicated. On the other side of things, Gerrit Cole put up a ridiculous stat line. He faces Kansas City this week, something I'm sure Matt is looking forward to.

NWL Playoffs Round 1 MVPs:

Fuzzy Kiwis over Time Consumers: Jack Flaherty - SP - 16 INN, 6 HA, 2 BBI, 18 K, 0.500 WHIP, 2 W

Two Starts over Killer Pandas: Kenta Maeda - RP - 8 INN, 5 HA, 11 K, 3 ER, 3.375 ERA, 0.625 WHIP, W, S

Jack Flaherty's second half dominance continued, with him dominating the Time Consumers, just enough to take control the ERA and WHIP categories. Kenta Maea may not have the best overall stat line from last week, but his Sunday heroics were up there with other all time great Wombat performances. Grandy'd was a term for a walk off bomb, and now Maeda'd should enter our lexicon for a walk off relief outing? Sure.
