Top 5 Single Seasons of All Time - Pitching

Opinions are of mine, and mine alone. Also, the numbers back me up, so I'm clearly right on all of this.

Pitching:

#1 - Jake Peavy - Power Bolts - 2007

19 Wins

2.54 ERA

1.061 WHIP

240 K's

Others had better overall stats. But no one affected Wombat pitching like Peavy dude. In 2007 we were still on a point scoring system, and for that one year, K's were 2 points each. Peavy had so many he was practically winning games by himself. His dominance would give the Power Bolts the championship belt in year 1.

#2. Justin Verlander - Ham Sandwiches - 2011

24 Wins

2.40 ERA

.920 WHIP

250 K's

Massive strikeout numbers, and the most wins in one season in Wombat history. Verlander has had a number of great years but this was his best, from a fantasy perspective.

#3 - Clayton Kershaw - Han Solo Shots- 2014

21 Wins

1.77 ERA

.857 WHIP

239 K's

#4 - Clayton Kershaw - Crab Cakes - 2011

21 Wins

2.28 ERA

.977 WHIP

248 K's

#5 - Clayton Kershaw - Han Solo Shots - 2015

16 Wins

2.13 ERA

.881 WHIP

301 K's

Insanity. His 2015 "only" produced 16 wins, which is lower for the greatest single season of all time, but look at that WHIP and those K's. Hopefully he can regain some of his eliteness, as he's in the running for greatest Wombat pitcher of all time.

Apolgies to:

2013 Max Scherzer

2018 Blake Snell

2010 Roy Halladay

2009 Justin Verlander

Many, many more
