Last week we see the AWL West sweep the AWL East, and the NWL East sweep the NWL West. So essentially, last week was completely pointless. Cool.
I've been in DC for the last two days for work, and now that I'm back, busy as ever. So one more short version of this article. Next week I'll do a 10,000 word manifesto. I swear it.
Dong of the Week:
Look at that bat speed. LOOK AT IT.
Transaction(s) of the Week:
5/18/19 7:41 AM
Two Starts:
Zack Wheeler SP | NYM - Traded from Kaidens Krew
Kaiden's Krew:
Steven Matz SP | NYM - Traded from Two Starts
2020 Round 4 - Draft Pick Traded from Two Starts
Wheeler has been a disappointment this year, but mostly because he has absolutely shit the bed against the Nationals. Otherwise, he's been solid. It's a risky deal for the Two Starts, who have now dealt 3rd and 4th round picks in next year's draft. If Wheeler can give numbers similar to last year though, then it's solid. On Kev's side, a 4th is a very solid return for Wheeler, especially when coupled with Matz, who has the potential to be JUST as good as Wheeler.
Solid all around, A grade deal for both teams.
Weekly MVP's:
Somewhat controversial this week, as I'm giving the AWL MVP to Chris Sale despite a mediocre ERA, for an MVP. 27 strikeouts is nutso though, and it actually won him the game. Losing to the Sitting Ducks all week, those 27k's were part of his huge come back effort.
In the NL, Kev also gets an MVP this week - this time Josh Bell. I had Bell last year and a bit of the year before, where he had mediocre power for a first baseman, but okay average. This year he's suddenly Frank fucking Thomas. Cool.

Dan's Culture Recommendation of the Week:
PokerChipDesignTool.com / ClassicPokerChips.com
You can use the first site to design poker chips, that can then be purchased from the second site. It can get quite expensive, but in theory we could have Wombat Poker Club chips. Since thinking of custom chips / finding this site, I've used it to create at least 40 designs so far. If we all pitch in, this is totally worth it....right?

Games of the Week:
AWL: Ham Sandwiches @ Moonschatz
With a win this week the Moonschatz could get a major upperhand on the rest of the division, and move to an impressive 7-1. The Hammies meanwhile look to stay above .500 with a win this week, and so far, I'm winning but it's damn close. Eloy Jimenez decided it would be this week to turn into the mega prospect he is, hitting 2 bombs last night, and I'm guessing 4 more before Sunday.
NWL: Time Consumers @ Killer Pandas
NWL East leaders battle it out this week. So far the matchup is living up to the hype, with close numbers in most categories. Pandas will have a tough time taking back ERA and WHIP, but it's doable with their remaining starts being Thor and Strasburg.
