The Weekly Wombat - Week 5

Things I am dealing with this week:

  • April is in the Bahamas, all week, leaving me with two insane children.

  • Several high priority work projects are due.

  • I have a second job, doing side work for another organization, and that is PAST due.

  • April gets back ON Mother's day.

Instead, I'm writing this and doing a baseball sim, for unknown reasons.  I am an idiot.

So, let's jump right into this, in a short and sweet version this week

Dong of the Week:

Transaction(s) of the Week:

4/29/19 1:36 PM ET

Cold Notes:

Carlos Rodon SP | CHW  - Traded from Kingslayers Jose Leclerc RP | TEX  - Traded from Kingslayers Shawn Kelley RP | TEX  - Traded from Kingslayers Jonathan Schoop 2B | MIN - Traded from Kingslayers Willy Adames SS | TB - Traded from Kingslayers

Kingslayers:

Michael Chavis 3B | BOS  - Traded from Cold Notes Diego Castillo RP | TB - Traded from Cold Notes Jorge Polanco SS | MIN - Traded from Cold Notes Roenis Elias RP | SEA - Traded from Cold Notes

So far this isn't looking great for Brandon, as he lost Rodon for the year already, and Leclerc officially lost his job the day after the trade.  He did get Kelley in this deal though, so for now, the Texas saves are safe on the Cold Notes.

Meanwhile, Michael Chavis, a borderline top 100 prospect, looks like he's going for rookie of the year.  Castillo continues to be part of a 3 headed committee for the Rays, picking up save here and there, along with Jose Alvarado, on the Kingslayers.

Weekly MVP's:

The before mentioned Chavis takes the AL spot this week, while Ryan Braun just eeks it out over Thor in the NWL.  Someone go back, figure out the MVP for each week of every season, and then let's see who has the most of this.  Someone that isn't me.  Please.

Dan's Culture Recommendation of the Week:

Ceviche

Why? Cause I'm having that for dinner tonight, and can't freaking wait.  If you've never had it, it's raw seafood cured in lime juice for around 15-30 minutes.  Then served typically with sweet potato, red onion, giant corn cernels, and a few other things.  If you like sushi, you'll like ceviche.

Games of the Week:

AWL: Sitting Ducks @ Kingslayers

At 2-2-1, the Ducks find themselves alone at the top of the AWL East by half a game.  A win against the Slayers would be big in their efforts towards a run for the division crown this year.  Meanwhile, the Slayers look to keep up with the Moonschatz in the AWL West.

NWL: Two Starts @ Time Consumers The two division leaders face off, in what is truly THE game of the week.  The Two Starts got a nice lead built up through Wednesday morning, mostly due to a Merill Kelly stinkbomb on Monday.
