The Weekly Wombat - Week 14 (part duex)

I think at one point in Wombat history, all star teams were made in Weeknuts, so let's try that again this year. We'll go with MLB style rules on rosters, where each team must have at least one representative.

I can already hear half of you bitching about this, and how that's not fair, and its like getting a participation trophy. Well guess what? I'm a liberal ass dude, and I'm the one writing this piece. So fuck off Jon, you MAGA loving asshole.

Dong of the Week:

Old school Longo moonshots? Sure, old school Longo moonshots.

Transaction of the Week:

7/1/19 12:51 PM ET

Two Starts:

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI - Traded from Time Consumers

Trevor Richards SP | MIA - Traded from Time Consumers

Time Consumers:

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | LAD - Traded from Two Starts

Cesar Hernandez 2B | PHI - Traded from Two Starts

My reaction upon seeing the CBS alert of this trade: Interesting. Just got Ryu, guess Bran really likes Marte. Wonder what his staff looks like now though...

10 seconds later:

7/1/19 12:51 PM ET

Two Starts:

Alex Verdugo RF | LAD - Traded from Schatzy Turtles

Kevin Newman SS | PIT - Traded from Schatzy Turtles

Ian Desmond 1B | COL - Traded from Schatzy Turtles

Jacob deGrom SP | NYM - Traded from Schatzy Turtles

Schatzy Turtles:

Pete Alonso 1B | NYM - Traded from Two Starts

My reaction upon seeing the CBS alert of this trade: HOLY FUCK

Bran is the true trade king. Don't let his propaganda tell you otherwise. This is the man who started out the year proclaiming he wasn't making ANY trades this year. Fast forward to the deadline, and he's willing to deal ANYBODY.

Weekly MVP's:

Kind of a weird week for MVPs, as we have our first one who hit under .400, and a starter without any wins. That said, everything else they did was dominant. Trout hit only .348 on the week, and made up for it with 6 bombs. Corbin didn't get a win in his two starts, but did K 18 batters, giving up just 1 run over 14 innings.

High and Tight Mini Ep:

Jon missed another deadline. Shocking, I know.

Instead, enjoy this Korean bunting derby.

Games of the Week:

AWL: Ham Sandwiches @ Moonschatz

NWL: Time Consumers @ Killer Pandas

The Consumers have lost 2 in a row, and with a short week, a 3rd would especially hurt. Being back 2 games this late in the year isn't that bad, but it's still a hurdle for sure.
