We've had a major influx of prospects come up in the last couple weeks, which got me wondering who the best players will be in Wombat's near future. Here, I will predict with 100% accuracy who will be the top 5 for each year in Wombat, for the next 5 years.
2020:
Mike Trout - OF - Kingslayers
Alex Bregman - 3B - Moonschatz
Manny Machado - 1B - Time Consumers
Mookie Betts - OF - Kingslayers
Ronald Acuna - OF - Fuzzy Kiwis
Bregman goes nuclear in 2020, fighting Trout for MVP. Meanwhile, after adding 20 pounds of "muscle", Machado puts up 45 bombs. He slides over to first base by all star break, unable to field like he used to. His transformation into Miggy is complete.
2021:

Vlad Guerrero Jr - 3B - Ham Sandwiches
Shohei Ohtani - SP/DH- Moonschatz
Alex Bregman - 3B - Moonschatz
Mookie Betts - OF - Kev Bombs
Already in all star in 2020, Vlad now becomes a mega star - 55 home runs, .330 average, leads the league in RBI's. Still not enough to dethrone Trout though, who somehow at that age puts up a 40-40 season, and the highest single season WAR since Bonds in 2001 . Ohtani also puts up an all time season, winning 14 games, and hitting 30 home runs. Finally, Jon trades Mookie to Kevin, in a deal for prospects you have yet to hear of. None of them pan out. It's great.
2022:

Nolan Arenado - 3B - Killer Pandas
Casey Mize comes onto the scene, striking out 300 batters, leading Brandon to declare he's his new Sale, and will never be traded. Naturally, at the 2023 draft he trades him to Kevin.
2023:

Wieters hype? Nah, bro. ADLEY HYPE. Zach picks him off waivers in 2022 and keeps him going into 2023, and it pays off - he has one of the best years offensively at catcher since Buster Posey's MVP year. Note: This prediction changes 100% if the Orioles pass on him at #1. Total bust otherwise. Nick finally gets Victor Robles, and he proceeds to give him a 30-30 season. Not quite the 60-60 he's going to get in 2019, but still pretty good.
2024:

At 32 and "slowing down", Jon finally decides it's time to trade Trout...for Vlad. It only took 5 years, but he accepts my offer. Elsewhere, Kyle Murray abandons the NFL after too many losses and hits, and instantly becomes a star for the Pez Sox. Having drafted Nolan Gorman mostly because of his name pays off for me, as he's a star for the Cards.
