Slayers, Pandas Win World Series

Kingslayers (13-9) and Killer Pandas (15-6-1,) GM Jon's two franchises, won both World Series to become the second double champion in WLB history (GM Dean's Megalomaniacs & Time Consumers did it first in 2015.)

The Kingslayers won their last 6 games in a row to make the playoffs and take the title. After nearly losing their playoff spot to the Kev Bombs who held 2nd place for the majority of the year, the Slayers rallied to overcome them and face their bitter rival Ham Sandwiches in the AWLDS. A tie-breaker win gave the Slayers the revenge they had craved for a whole year after the Sandwiches had previously knocked off the 2017 18-4 Slayers. In the World Series the Cold Notes played a closely contested game with the Slayers all week, but it ended in a 6-4 victory for the new champions thanks to big Sunday home runs by Jurickson Profar and Justin Upton.

The Killer Pandas, on the other hand, were Breakdown champions all year long, finishing 1 game behind the Schatzy Turtles for best record in the NWL. A late rally by the Time Consumers in the NWLDS nearly was enough to end their season but the Pandas prevailed and took on the Two Starts in the World Series. The Starts had defeated the Pandas in the World Series twice before in 2008 & 2013, but the 3rd time was the charm for the black & white bashers that featured a lineup of Colorado Rockies hitters with 4 games in Coors Field. The Killer Pandas would win the game 6.5-3.5, cementing their place in history.
