Wombat Simulation - June standings and highlights

- The Kingslayers are closing the gap on the Ham Sandwiches, now just sitting 2 games behind the division lead. Meanwhile, the AL East race is still just a few games decided between 3 teams. In the NL the Time Consumers are improving but will need to post a better record if they want to get one of the two wildcard spots.

- We're at the end of June, not even at the All Star break yet, and this league is apparently all about the juiced ball. Carlos Gonzalez (Two Starts) has 31 bombs on the year, and Nelson Cruz (Megalomaniacs) has 28. Both have a chance at Maris' 61, and maybe even Bonds' record if all breaks perfectly.

- No major injuries in June, just lots of small sprains and tweaks that have guys out for a week or two at the most. I haven't been updating about those.

- Our Oriole young guns have not fared well in this league. Kevin Gausman (Baseball Furies) has a 6.88 ERA so far, giving up 1.8 home runs per inning. He's 0-9. Meanwhile, Dylan Bundy has a 6.45 ERA and is giving up 3.6 home runs per inning pitched. That doesn't even make sense.

- David Robertson (Kingslayers) now leads the league in saves, with 18. Stephen Strasburg (Killer Pandas) is behind him, with 16.

- Mike Trout (Kingslayers) leads the league in WAR through June. He's already gone 20/20, well on his way to an MVP season. I assumed it'd be him, Pujols and Miggy as MVP candidates. So far the other two have been good, but not like Trout. Pujols (Crab Cakes) is hitting .281 with 20 HRs and a 1.6 WAR so far, while Miggy (Megalomaniacs) is hitting .316 with 13 HRs and 2.0 WAR. Trout playing centerfield helps his WAR a good bit compared to the first basement, but he's having a way better offensive season anyway than those two.
