In a rare divisional trade, the Killer Pandas and Han Solo Shots pulled off a blockbuster sending Jeff Samardzjaaizzaaja to the defending NL East champions.
In exchange for the pitcher affectionately nicknamed The Shark, the Solo Shots acquired two closers, Latroy Hawkins and Jose Valverde, along with promising strikeout pitcher Jenrry Mejia. With a completely revamped bullpen the Solo Shots now have the sole distinction of being the only club with 3 starting closers, while the Killer Pandas added a big game pitcher to their already impressive collection of arms.
While early reactions to the deal have varied, one thing that's not debatable is that in 2014, the black & white division is out for blood.
