Aroldis Chapman. Jose Iglasias. Jurickson Profar. Grady Sizemore (soon). These are some of the injuries that have hit Wombat League Baseball hard, in the few weeks since the draft started.
Chapman hurts the most especially, as he’ll be missed by the Tommy Johns for six to eight weeks. Lucky for them, there was no brain damage found. Instead, he just has a plate in his head. No biggie. The Iraqi Killas have been hit very hard in the infield, as their Rangers double play team of Elvis Andrus and Jurickson Profar are both injured already, with Profar the more serious one. Kelly Johnson will fill in for Profar for the Killas, who isn’t a bad option. In a league with many benches full of scrubs, Kelly Johnson isn’t a bad option for six weeks.
Finally, I’m going to write about the inevitable Grady Sizemore injury now to save some time. GM Jon Glo has gotten his hopes up very high, with the Red Sox raving about Sizemore’s spring. Of course though, he is going to miss the remainder of the season after sneezing and tearing both his ACL’s. Unfortunate.
