After a magical 2011 season, the Tommy Johns organization decided to commemorate their championship run by adding a crown to their logo for the upcoming 2012 campaign.
The results were disastrous.
Staff aces Roy Halladay and Tim Lincecum unraveled and the Tommy Johns compiled a miserable 8-36 combined record across the 2012/2013 seasons.
Whether the collapse was coincidence or curse, WLB fans and media alike immediately dubbed the fall from grace The Curse of the Crown.
Coming into the 2014 season, GM Nick G had hoped to put the recent nightmare run behind him, and with a promising group of keepers & a slew of draft picks it appeared he might be able to do just that. But then this happened, and we're all left to wonder: is this is just normal bad luck? Or is the curse destined to continue?
